  1. It's amazing how this simple idea, has turned into a life altering practice. "One child, One teacher, One book, and One pen can change the world." I am blown away at the number of new books I have been exposed to, the awareness that I now have towards diversity in read alouds, and the social emotional connections I have have made with my students through this routine. I have recently switched from Ele to Middle School and have struggled to fit it into all of my classes, 52 minute blocks fly by. The pressure of learning a new curriculum and fitting in with teammates got the best of me. Every day I see new posts, I KICK myself that I didn't keep up with it this year. I didn't listen to my heart, I let myself slip to the dark side. I watch in envy as colleagues post about their #classroombookaday this year. Colleagues who saw the success I had and were inspired to try it. For anyone reading this, who has been wanting to give this a try, Go FOR IT. It's not too late. Thanks again Jillian for supporting this, inspiring us, mentoring new teachers, and continually challenging us to grow by posting books.
