TTT: Top 10 Books I’ve Read So Far in 2013

June 25, 2013

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
Top Ten Books I’ve Read So Far in 2013
In no particular order (because that would be way too hard!)
SOMETHING LIKE NORMAL by Trish Doller
I HUNT KILLERS by Barry Lyga

OCTOBER MOURNING: A Song for Matthew Shepard by Leslea Newman

GHOST HAWK by Susan Cooper [August]

THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US by Kasie West

BOY NOBODY by Allen Zadoff

SMILE by Raina Telgemeier (graphic novel)

OUT OF THE EASY by Ruta Sepetys
THE TESTING by Joelle Charbonneau

ELEANOR & PARK by Rainbow Rowell

Bonus List (because it’s impossible for me to limit a favorite books list to only ten)
The Wolfson Literary Authors
(I always go for one of her authors when I need a failsafe book I know I’ll love-she reps authors who write the kind of books I enjoy reading)
THE CHAOS OF STARS by Kiersten White
[upcoming September release]
PIVOT POINT by Kasie West
[ I read it late last year, but I hope you didn’t miss it in Feb, & it was a student favorite]
WHEN YOU WERE HERE by Daisy Whitney
[technically I read it in 2012, but it just released]

The Series Favorites
CRASH & BANG (Visions series) by Lisa McMann
[Released in January and quickly became a student favorite – couldn’t keep it on the shelf & had a waiting list for ARC of book 2 releasing in September]

THE FALSE PRINCE & THE RUNAWAY KING by Jennifer A. Nielsen
[Middle grades historical fantasy I (& students) loved]

Great list! Just in time for trip to the Library. Loved "Smile" and it was the first book a student brought to me and said "I think you'll like this" so it will always be a sentimental fave too.

So many of these are already on my To-Be-Read list…ahhh when will I find time to get to them all (I want to read all of them right now).

Pivot Point & When You Were Here were so great, and The False Prince series was a popular one in my classroom.
It's going to be hard to shrink lists down to a "best of" for the whole year because there are just too many great books to read!

So happy to see Out of the Easy on your list! I love Ruta Sepetys and can't wait for whatever she has in store for us next.

I love your list! I'm taking Eleanor & Park as a vacation read when I head to the beach in August. Also I plan on reading Out of the Easy soon. It's been staring at me from off my tbr shelves long enough! I Hunt Killers was awesome, and I recently listened to the sequel (which was good too!).

Hope the rest of your reading year is as good!

Pivot Point was so flipping fantastic. I honestly think it was my favorite read of the year hands down. It was just so clever and entertaining.

So many of my 2012 favorites made your list! 🙂 I have Eleanor & Park and Out of the Easy on my list as well. Hopefully I'll read Boy Nobody and The Distance Between Us this summer.
